Spearhead was created by Bandai and distributed as part of the Tonka Gobots in the US and Bandai's Robo Machine line in Europe.

Robo Machine Packaging (shared by all Series 1 and 2 figures and Saberstone and Spearhead) 'Rock Life has evolved upon the planet 'Quartex' in the form of rock "beings", each with their own unique abilities. Conflict exists between the forces of good and evil ROCK LORDS. But just like GOBOTS, good does not always prevail, sometime the evil side wins!'
Spearhead did not receive a Japanese or Australian release.

Character Details Spearhead was not distributed with a character biocard/filecard on the packaging.
Colour Prototype: Zack VanNatta kindly supplied photos of a very late stage Spearhead colour version that was very likely close to going to production. Its currently unclear why the late stage colour change was decided. It was featured, shown on blister card, in both a retailer catalogue and a store display suggestion info sheet; both from Tonka. Also in the same documents was shown a US Rock Lords version of Fossilsaurus called 'Fossil Puzzler' in both a Gift Set collected pack as well as individual, blister carded figures. These too were US specific colours and those can been seen on the Fossilsaurus page in this section.
The Sculpt Prototype (bottom of page) shows many early sculpt variations and completely different forearms and head.
