'Robot Converts to Car with Pull Back Action'

The Dashbots (all plastic version) Ferrari is a transforming robot toy that was sold in four colours*; red, black, yellow and green.

To increase the number of toys in the selection, the feet section was issued in either red or black adding extra variants.

Unlike the original metal and plastic version, the all plastic Ferrari's windows are part of the main body and not a semi-transparent insert.

As with all Dashbots, the Ferrari features a powerful pull back, wind up motor that competently sends it dashing across the floor.

* as the all plastic Dashbots are fairly uncommon, while it's highly likely blue with black feet and green with red feet versions may exist to match the two yellow Ferraris, they've yet to be sighted. While only speculated, red and black feet may have over manufactured doubling their variants instead of making a blue or green foot section specifically to match the rest of those cars. This was possibly a cost saving measure while adding extra variety.

Faction The Ferrari was listed on the first release, tray packaging as allied with the 'Evil Robots'.

Stamped '(c) 1984 Upright Manufacturers Inc Pat. Pending Made in Taiwan'. Up-Right is misprinted and should have a hyphen. The stamp was not updated to reflect the reissue date. The reason for this is the date stamp relates to the year the toy was patented, not produced.

Trivia The Dashbots Ferrari's face is loosely based on a RX-78-2 Gundam Mobile Suit head. It's not surprising as the Ferrari was adapted from a Japanese model kit released during the height of Gundam's early popularity. The same kit was re-used by North American company Monogram for their Gobots 'Turbo' kit; regardless of it looking nothing like the Turbo. The Dashbots version is 10% larger than the original kit.
